As precast specialty engineer, designed lifting, handling, hauling and storage schemes and produced the shop drawings for the for full-depth deck panels for all approach spans. This was an extremely large, fast-paced project, requiring more than 12 full-time detailers and engineers for many months. Many panels were bi-planar to accommodate variable roadway crown lines. Detailing four levels of rebar around numerous penetrations, embedments, and build-outs proved to be a continuous challenge throughout the duration of the project. The 100-year service life of the structure required extraordinary drafting precision and close attention to detail.
